Manage organisations and people
Create contacts and organisations, keep their details current, and make sure transmittals and invitations reach the right person.
1 min read
Your directory is only useful when it is right. A transmittal sent to an old email address, or an invitation to someone who left the company, costs real time on site. This guide covers adding people and organisations, and keeping their details current.
Create a contact
- 1
In the sidebar, open Contacts, then click the create button.

Enter their name and email address, then add their role and organisation so teammates know who they are dealing with.

Save. The contact appears in Search contacts and can be picked wherever you address people.
Create an organisation
Open Contacts, then Organizations, and create the company there. Give it a clear name, then link its people to it as you add them. One organisation with five contacts beats five contacts with the company name spelled five different ways.
Edit details
Open any contact or organisation from the directory to reach its detail page, then edit from there. Update a contact's role, move them to a different organisation, or fix how to reach them: email, phone, address.

Keep the directory clean
- Search before you create. A duplicate contact splits history between two records.
- When someone changes company or role, edit the existing contact instead of adding a new one.
- Fill in the organisation on every contact, so a company view shows everyone who works there.
- Retire stale entries. An address nobody checks is worse than no address at all.
Transmittals are only as good as the address
Transmittals and workspace invitations go to the details on the contact. Keep them current and the drawing reaches the person who needs it, first time.
