How project mail works
A tour of the three-pane Mail view: the mailboxes, the message list, and the reading pane.
1 min read
Mail is your project inbox. Every transmittal, RFI, and document that involves you arrives in one stream, so you never have to chase correspondence across modules. It reads like email, but everything in it is on the record.
Open Mail
Click Mail in the sidebar. A badge on the item shows how many unread messages are waiting. Mail opens full width in a three-pane view: mailboxes on the left, the message list in the middle, and the reading pane on the right.

The mailboxes
The rail on the left lists your mailboxes. Each one is a slice of the same correspondence.
- Inbox unifies everything addressed to you: transmittals, RFIs, and documents that involve you.
- Saved holds the messages you starred with Save.
- Sent is everything you have issued or replied to.
- RFIs and Documents narrow the stream to just that type of correspondence.
- Drafts keeps anything you started composing but have not sent.
- Archive stores handled mail you moved out of the inbox.
- Trash holds what you removed.

The message list
The middle pane lists the messages in the selected mailbox, newest first. Switch between the All and Unread tabs to see everything or just what you have not opened, and use the search box at the top to filter the list.

The reading pane
Select a message and the reading pane on the right shows the full thread: who sent it, who it went to, the attached documents, and every reply. The actions along the top let you Respond, Save, Archive, Trash, or Snooze the message. Save, archive, and find mail covers each one.
This is not personal email
Everything in Mail is project correspondence on the record: who sent what to whom, and when. That is what makes it worth keeping and worth trusting.
